Today we're pleased to present another work by Grandmaster Richard Pask, entitled Americans in Ryde. It's about Asa Long's victory in that seaside town on the Isle of Wight in the 1984 British Open Draughts Championship. In the book, Mr. Pask presents annotated transcriptions of all 20 games played by Mr. Long during the course of the tournament. It makes for great reading and study as the play is indeed most remarkable.

As a sample of what to expect, here's a graphic of the book's cover, with Asa Long (White) to play and win against Pat McCarthy (Black).
