The Checker Maven welcomes submittals but certain terms and conditions do apply.
For our own legal protection, you must agree that for anything you submit to us, you grant us an unlimited, irrevocable, cost and royalty free non-exclusive license to use your submittal in any manner which we see fit, without compensation to you of any kind. You further certify that you have sufficient rights in the submitted material to grant us such a license and that you will defend and hold us harmless in the event of a claim against us for our use of the material. We do not guarantee to use any material submitted to us or make any promises of any nature.
We're sorry that this sounds so draconian but we have limited resources and must play it safe. As a practical matter, these terms and conditions are likely to have little if any effect (but you must of course rely on your own judgment). It all boils down to this: we can't pay you for your submittals and you have to be sure your submittals don't violate anyone's copyrights, as the trolls are out there waiting to pounce.
Comments, news items, problem compositions, game analyses, guest articles, etc., are all welcome. However, do recognize that we publish to a high professional standard, so we can only publish articles written at such a level. We just don't have time to do extensive edits or rewrites.
